Gloucester Docks and Quays


We highly recommend taking the short trip over to the nearby Gloucester Docks and Quays during your visit. This vibrant, beautifully restored historic inland port is a fantastic waterfront destination offering over 40 brilliant places to eat and drink. Alongside premium outlet shopping at the
Gloucester Quays Outlet and rich maritime history at the National Waterways Museum, it makes for an incredible day out just a short journey from your doorstep.

The Promenade & Montpellier


Step outside Neptune Apartments and you are immediately on one of Cheltenham's most famous streets. The Promenade is lined with mature trees, Regency architecture, shops, cafés and restaurants and leads towards the beautiful Montpellier district. Montpellier is particularly lovely for an afternoon stroll, with boutique shops, galleries, cafés, bars and restaurants


Imperial Gardens


The beautiful Imperial Gardens sit just behind the Town Hall and are particularly spectacular during the summer months when the flower displays are at their best. The gardens also host events and festivals throughout the year.


The Neptune Fountain


The famous Neptune Fountain is situated on the Promenade and is one of Cheltenham's best-known landmarks. It was inspired by Bernini's famous fountain in Rome and is a lovely spot for photographs.


Pittville Park & Pump Room


Pittville Park is Cheltenham's largest ornamental park and a wonderful place for a walk. The park includes a boating lake, children's play areas, wildlife areas and the magnificent Pittville Pump Room. The Pump Room is one of Cheltenham's finest examples of Regency architecture.


The Wilson Art Gallery & Museum


Located in the town centre, The Wilson is Cheltenham's art gallery and museum. It explores local history, art and the story of Cheltenham, with exhibitions and collections changing throughout the year.

The Promenade

No.131 The Promenade


Just a short stroll from Neptune Apartments, No.131 is one of Cheltenham’s best-known spots for dining and drinks. Wetherspoons - The Bank House (Closest) and The Moon Under Water


For a cheap, convenient, and reliable option, Cheltenham has two excellent Wetherspoon pubs. Both offer the classic, budget-friendly menu with zero booking stress, making them perfect for an easy dinner and drinks. 

The Bank House is a 5 minute walk from Neptune Apartments on Clarence Street and The Moon Under Water is a 10 minute walk on Bath Road.

Everyman Theatre


A spectacular Victorian theatre dating from 1891, designed by renowned theatre architect Frank Matcham. Cheltenham Playhouse


A much-loved local theatre on Bath Road, offering an intimate setting for drama, comedy, musicals and community productions. The Playhouse has been part of Cheltenham’s theatrical scene since 1945. Its a short stroll from Neptune Apartments.


Bacon Theatre


Located within the grounds of Dean Close School, the Bacon Theatre is a modern 566-seat venue presenting touring theatre, live music, dance, comedy and other performances. There is also the outdoor Tuckwell Amphitheatre nearby. 


Cheltenham Town Hall

Horse Racing - World famous Cheltenham Racecourse


Cheltenham Racecourse is one of the area's major attractions and hosts racing throughout the season, including the world famous Cheltenham Festival. The racecourse is situated at Prestbury and is easily accessible from the town centre by taxi or public transport. Race days can be extremely busy, so advance planning is recommended. A day to remember!


Gloucester Rugby - Kingsholm Stadium, Gloucester


In the city of Gloucester, 8.5 miles away. The Cherry and Whites as they are locally known are one of the oldest rugby union clubs in the world and supported very widely in the area.  If you get a chance to go to a game you won’t be disappointed. The stadium can be reached easily by car or public transport. Great Atmosphere.


Cheltenham Town Football - Whaddon Road, Cheltenham


Cheltenham Town Football Club is the town's professional football club, nicknamed The Robins. They were founded in 1887 and play at Whaddon Road, currently known for sponsorship purposes as the EV Charger Points Stadium. The stadium is just a short walk 1.2 miles away.

Bourton-on-the-Water


One of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque villages, just a short drive from Neptune Apartments. Known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds”, the village is centred around the River Windrush, with charming stone bridges, traditional cottages, independent shops, cafés and riverside walks.


Stow-on-the-Wold


One of the Cotswolds’ most charming market towns, just a short drive from Cheltenham. Set high on a hilltop, Stow is known for its honey-coloured stone buildings, historic market square, independent shops, galleries, cafés and traditional pubs.


Broadway


One of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque villages, surrounded by rolling countryside and beautiful honey-coloured stone cottages. Explore its charming high street, independent shops, galleries, cafés and traditional pubs.


Chipping Campden


One of the Cotswolds’ most beautiful historic market towns. Famous for its distinctive honey-coloured stone buildings, charming high street, independent shops, galleries and traditional pubs, it is full of character and old-world charm.


Winchcombe


Step back in time in Winchcombe, a historic market town with a fascinating royal connection. Just outside the town lies Sudeley Castle, the former home of Queen Katherine Parr, the last wife of Henry VIII. Explore the castle ruins, beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside before wandering through Winchcombe’s historic streets, independent shops and traditional pubs.


Painswick


Known as the “Queen of the Cotswolds”, perched high above the Slad Valley. Wander its narrow lanes and explore the village’s beautiful honey-coloured stone buildings, independent shops and historic churchyard, famous for its 99 yew trees.

With spectacular views across the Cotswold countryside and the famous Painswick Rococo Garden nearby, it’s a wonderful destination for scenery, history and a peaceful escape.


Cirencester


The historic “Capital of the Cotswolds”, with a story stretching back to Roman Britain. Explore the impressive Corinium Museum, the beautiful Abbey Grounds and the lively market square, alongside independent shops, cafés and restaurants.

With its fascinating Roman heritage and characterful town centre, Cirencester offers a different side of the Cotswolds to explore.

Cleeve Hill


One of the best places near Cheltenham for panoramic views across the surrounding countryside and Cheltenham’s famous racecourse.


Leckhampton Hill


A popular walking area overlooking Cheltenham, with spectacular views and the famous Devil's Chimney.

TRAVEL & GETTING AROUND


Cheltenham town centre is very walkable, and many attractions can be reached without a car.

Cheltenham Spa railway station provides rail connections to destinations including Gloucester, Bristol, Birmingham and London.

Local buses provide connections throughout Cheltenham and to surrounding towns and villages.

For exploring the Cotswolds, a car can be particularly useful, although organised tours and public transport options are also available.

VIEW APARTMENTS ➝

We are minutes away from the stunning floral displays of Imperial Gardens, home to Cheltenham Literature, Jazz and Science Festivals, along with many other events throughout the year.


And if you want to explore further afield, there is a taxi rank and bus stops right outside the front door.


We have a limited number of car park spaces available for booking before arrival, on a first-come first-served basis in nearby Royal Crescent. These are charged at £10 a day Sunday to Thursday and £12.50 a day Friday and Saturday. The parking directly outside the apartments is free of charge between 6pm and 8am the following morning. After which it is metered. Alternatively, the Cheltenham Walk car park is a 6 minute walk from the apartments and charges £11 for 4+ to 24 hours.
